PLANS for a new storage shed at Dumbarton Central Station have been withdrawn by the applicant.
Abellio Scotrail, the operators of the station, were looking to install a "winter storage shed" on one of the platforms at the station, however, the plans appear to have been scrapped last month.
According to the planning lists published by West Dunbartonshire Council, the application was withdrawn on Tuesday, June 11.
It is unclear why the plans were halted, but the application proved to be controversial to some.
Two letters of representation were received from the Dumbarton Station Improvement Trust and the Architectural Heritage Society of Scotland, both of which slated the plans as being "inappropriate" and "ill-considered".
Both groups objected to the plans on the grounds that it would add to the number of non-original structures at the station.
It is not known if the objections, which were both received in March of this year, had any bearing on the withdrawal of the application.
Scotrail has been contacted for comment.
