COMMUTERS have been disrupted across Dumbarton and the Vale after two rush-hour trains were scrapped.
Scotrail announced problems at Cardross had forced the cancellation of the 7.56am service between Helensburgh Central and Edinburgh, along with the 8.05am service Helensburgh and Sprinburn.
The issue was caused by an object possibly trapped in the apparatus which transfers power from the overhead lines to the train, causing the train to come to a stop.
The train, which was due to terminate at Dumbarton Central, regained power and continued onto the station, but disruption is expected to continue until 10am.
Delays were also felt on four other services, departing from Balloch and Dumbarton Central, with some stops being missed by the services.
Scotrail has apologised for the disruption and instructed people to check train times before travelling.
