Residents in Dumbarton and the Vale will be able to enjoy a weekend of live music on the bonnie banks next month.

The Balloch - Big Music Weekend has been organised by Joe Quinn Events and Castle Studio in conjunction with many local businesses due to popular demand and following the demise of the annual festival in Balloch.

The B-BMW festival will be held on Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4, with the music kicking off at 2pm until late on both days.

The event will be headlined by West Dunbartonshire folk band Have Mercy Las Vegas, supported by Jamie Gillies and Kev Howell, and will also feature lots of other great bands and musicians, folk sessions, Singer Station, the Loch Lomond Ukelele Orchestra and more.

On Facebook Have Mercy Las Vegas said: “This lovely summer weather has got us really looking forward to our first hometown gig in ages!

“Balloch has really missed the buzz of the Folk Festival, so we’re hoping to bring some of that excitement back.

“It’s only a fiver to catch ourselves, Jamie Gillies - Sounds From The Snug and Kev Howell play at Kerbside for B - BMW.”

“Let’s make the event a great success!”

Most of the performances will be free with some venues child and dog friendly.

The programme for the festival can be picked up at The Doghouse, Palombos, Corries, The Waterhouse, The Balloch House, The Tullie, The Tourist Information Office, The Glen Roy, Lomond Park Hotel, Cucina and The TOA office.
