A MONTHLY live music event, which has raised thousands of pounds for charity, is taking place again this week.

Dumbarton Acoustic Music Night at St Augustine’s Church promises a fantastic evening of entertainment this Friday with local acts The Midgies, Ralph Thomson, Toast, Linda Howitt, Connor and Stephen all taking the stage.

Last month’s concert raised £500 for Riverside Playgroup and money raised from this week’s event will also see funds donated to a local charity.

Previous music nights have also raised cash for a defibrillator in the town, and supported local causes including Lennox Children’s Trust, Alzheimer Scotland, Vale of Leven Asperger’s and Autism Group, St Augustine’s Church, the Food For Thought group and West Kirk Parent and Toddlers Group.
