DUMBARTON’S MSP has urged good causes in the town to apply for a share of a £3 million funding pool.

Jackie Baillie made the comments ahead of the deadline for applications for the pot, dished out by the People’s Postcode Lottery, tomorrow (August 14).

Groups can apply for grants between £500 and £20,000.

Ms Baillie said: “This is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the funding available and expand the reach of an existing service, get a new project off the ground.”

Three different funding streams are available for different types of charty.

The People's Postcode Trust will give cash to causes battling poverty and discrimination, while the

Postcode Community Trust will help to fund groups to improve health and wellbeing in local communities.

The Postcode Local Trust funds are focused on more environmentally friendly causes, such as the improvement of green space, access to the outdoors and renewable energy.
