THE Scottish Government has published its vision for improving internet speeds across the country.
In a document published on its website, the government said it is not worried about the internet provision in urban areas, which has already attracted investment from companies like CityFibre, Vodafone and BT, but are instead focused on more rural areas.
Politicians at Holyrood have pledged to raise speeds to 30 megabytes per second across the country, a plan unmatched by any other members of the UK.
No date has been set for the completion of the project, but the five-page document states the government hopes to be able to award contracts for the work before the end of the year.
