CHARITIES, good cause groups and community projects across Dumbarton and the Vale are being invited to apply for a share of £25,000.
As part of Scotmid Co-operative’s Community Connect initiative, a panel of elected members and staff will shortlist applications to just three, who will be in line to win the top Community Connect award of £15,000, with the runners-up each receiving £5,000.

Applications are welcome from any group who enhance the quality of life and wellbeing of people living in the community.

Helen Mitchell, chair of the Trust Jack Foundation, who won the top Community Connect award of £15,000 funding in May, said: “Scotmid’s Community Connect is a fantastic initiative – the funding has enabled us to help more young people and made a big difference.
“We would definitely encourage good cause groups to apply for a Community Connect award; it has helped us to bring an important project to life in our area.”
Applications should be made via the website, Scotmid.coop, by 5pm on Friday, August 30.
