An AMAZING woman from South Wales will be passing through Dumbarton on a 20,000 mile trek to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Karen Penny is aiming to generate £100,000 for the charity by walking around the entire coast of the UK and Ireland, without going home or taking a break.

She is making the mammoth trek, which it is estimated will take her three years to complete, after losing both of her in-laws to different forms of dementia.
The 53-year-old mum set off from South Wales in January, and in the time since, has walked the complete circumference of the island of Ireland and the entire Welsh coastal path.
The precise dates of when she will be passing through the area will not be known until nearer the time, but the charity anticipates that Karen will likely make it here sometime in September.
