POLICE in Helensburgh say they are "actively seeking" a 40-year-old suspect after receiving reports of a man armed with a knife in a street in the town.

Officers received reports of a man in possession of a blade in Logie Place at 11.30am on Thursday, August 15.

They attended immediately, but the man had made off by the time officers arrived at the scene.
