A construction worker has died after suffering serious injuries while working on a construction site at St Enoch Centre earlier this afternoon.
Cops and ambulance crews raced to the scene at around 3.20pm.
The fire service was also in attendance but a 43-year-old was unable to be saved and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police confirmed the tragic news this evening.
A spokesman for the force said: "A 43 year-old man has died after sustaining serious injuries while working at a construction site at St Enoch Centre, Glasgow on Thursday August 22.
"Emergency services were called around 3.20pm, however the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"A joint Police Scotland and Health and Safety Executive investigation is ongoing and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
The site has been cordoned off since the incident and remains sealed off to the public at this time.
