A MULTI-MILLION pound contract is set to be awarded for long awaited works to Balloch Bridge.
At a council meeting in 2013, plans were lodged to repair the bridge deck as part of a ten year capital plan.
A report due to go before the tendering committee this month has selected construction giant Balfour Beatty as the front runner for the award.
The £3.6 million contract is slated to last for six months.

The council has said Balfour Beatty has pledged to pay above the living wage, and is in the process of becoming an accredited living wage employer.
A further condition called on the developer to ensure 20 per cent of the contract will utilise local labour.
