Plans to revamp town centres in Dumbarton and the Vale have been given the green light.
At a meeting of the infrastructure, regeneration and economic development committee last week, councillors backed the use of nearly £1 million of government cash intended to boost local town centres.
In Dumbarton, proposals have been hatched to improve the area around the Waterfront Pathway, with the inclusion of greenspace, “pocket parks” and seating.

Alexandria will see a number of properties on the town’s High Street brought back into commercial or office use.

Committee convener Iain McLaren said: “I am pleased to see that officers have put a lot of thought into which projects would benefit most from this funding, as well as taking into account the view point of the communities involved.”
