A community hub in Dumbarton West opened their doors for a day of celebration recently.

The Phoenix has been open for nearly a year now and many familiar faces headed down to the centre for its first community day which involved a bouncy castle, a community cafe, kids’ zone, archery, tombola, stalls and lots and lots of fun.

Oli Higham, pastor of Rock Community Church who run The Phoenix, said: “The day was a huge success. It was so encouraging seeing our team of staff and volunteers greet local residents and help foster a real sense of community cohesion.”

Kirsty Lee, community activities coordinator, added: “We wanted to get people back in the door at the start of the new year and provide a fun time but also let them know about the activities we have on this term.”
