THE sun stayed out, and there was ice-cream a-plenty to help everyone enjoy Levengrove Park community open day recently.
Around 500 people descended upon the greenspace to enjoy a raft of activities on Saturday, August 31.
Police were in attendance - but only to let visitors have a seat in the back of their vans.
Officers chatted to kids, parents and carers, and even let some of them try on their police hats for size.
Refreshments were provided by Iain Brown and Amy Leigh who dished out treats from Iain’s ice-cream van, and the recently opened Pavillion Cafe also proved a hit.
Visitors also enjoyed activities including facepainting, pony rides and various lawn games including crazy golf.
A spokeswoman for the park said:“The Community Open Day was a big success, and we were pleased to see so many people enjoying the park.”
