A FAMILY-FRIENDLY play featuring two clowns, a musician and possibly the most persistent slug you’ve ever met is coming to Helensburgh next month.
Visible Fictions’ new production, Slug, will be performed at the Victoria Halls on Saturday, October 19 at 2.30pm as part of a Scottish tour.
Created and directed by Visible Fictions’ artistic director Douglas Irvine and award winning theatre maker and clown Melanie Jordan, the dialogue-free show follows the tale of an exasperated gardener trying to keep a rather tenacious slug at bay.

Slug is described by its promoters as “an irreverent caper that explores our relationship with our neighbours and the boundaries we set for ourselves”.
It’s suitable for families with children over the age of seven – and the wordless nature of the show means it’s ideally suited to deaf audience members.

Douglas Irvine said: “It’s been very exciting working with clowning techniques to bring our story alive.
“Telling the story through music and physicality instead of words has been a very interesting process.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun to tour it around Scotland.”
