LOCAL MP Martin Docherty-Hughes added a dash of pink to his usual attire recently.

The West Dunbartonshire politician is calling on folk to join him in signing up for Breast Cancer Now’s fundraiser - wear it pink - which takes place on October 18.

Since launching in 2002, wear it pink has raised over £33 million thanks to the support of fundraisers - helping to fund vital breast cancer research and support.

Mr Docherty-Hughes met with supporters of the charity in parliament and heard from people affected by breast cancer who shared their experiences of dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

The MP said: “A cancer diagnosis can be devastating and daunting. I’m grateful to Breast Cancer Now for meeting with me and to those affected by this terrible disease for sharing their experiences.

“Cancer affects many families across Clydebank - which is why I’m encouraging my constituents to take part in wear it pink day.

“The money raised by this event has such a huge impact, helping to fund vital research and support for those living with a diagnosis. I hope that everybody will wear it pink this October and support this very important cause.”
