A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of two men charged with allegedly producing cannabis at a former social club on an Alexandria industrial estate.

Police are now actively looking for Hien Nguyen, 48, of Denmilne Street in Glasgow, and Si Van Le, 18, of Christie Street, Paisley, after the pair failed to show up for a court hearing.

They are both accused of producing the Class B drug at a block formerly known as the Lomond Venue, on the Vale of Leven Industrial Estate, on December 19, 2018.

Both men also face a separate charge of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug on the same date.

Solicitor Tony Bone, who appeared on behalf of both men at a hearing at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on October 1, told the court he had no idea where either of them were.

Mr Bone said: “Neither is in attendance today and I am unable to provide any explanation as to why.”

The brief added that a special defence of coercion had been lodged in respect of the charges.

Sheriff William Gallacher granted the Crown’s motion for a warrant to apprehend the two men.

The case will continue when the pair are tracked down.
