An INFORMATIVE new exhibition now greets visitors to Loch Lomond Shores.

Located in the mall at the centre in Balloch, the display showcases all that the area has to offer to those that choose to explore the loch.

The exhibition is free and will be a permanent feature giving information on the region’s history, geology, clans and much more.

Funded by Loch Lomond Shores and the Friends of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs, it cost £5,000 and is set to be a popular addition to the already busy five-star loch-side visitor attraction.

The exhibition was formally opened on October 3 by Andy Roger, chairman of local destination group Love Loch Lomond and resort director at Cameron House Hotel, John Urquhart, Friends trustee, and Audrey Calder of Loch Lomond Shores.

Mr Roger said: “This exhibition is a unique and incredibly useful resource for those visiting the area. Not only does it give them historic and general information about Loch Lomond, it also highlights its diversity and what each individual area around the loch has to offer.

“Local people, especially school children, will also benefit from the exhibition if they want to learn more about this beautiful area of Scotland that they live in.”

The exhibition is the newest addition to the wide range on offer at the Shores, which includes indoor, outdoor and water based activities alongside great shopping, eating and events for all the family.
