A WOMAN who was nearly four times the legal drink limit went on a high-speed and dangerous drive from Helensburgh to Bowling.

Sandra Blair, of Fullers Gate, Clydebank, pleaded guilty at Dumbarton Sheriff Court last week to driving dangerously on the A818, near Sinclair Street, Helensburgh, at excessive speed, repeatedly colliding with a vehicle and causing damage to it.

Then, on the A82 between Balloch and Bowling, the 40-year-old also crashed into another vehicle, causing it to be pushed into the path of an oncoming goods vehicle, forcing the other driver to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

Blair continued to drive, despite suffering severe front end damage to her own car which left the bonnet of her vehicle covering her windscreen, preventing her from having a clear and unrestricted view of the road.

She swerved about on the road and then finally came to a stop on to a grass verge.

Blair was found to have 82mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath when the limit is just 22mg.

Sheriff Frances McCartney deferred sentence for reports until November 22, and banned Blair from driving in the interim.
