THE weather may be colder and the days shorter, but that's not stopping community groups around Helensburgh and Lomond organising another packed weekend of events in the area.

Free and open to anyone who would like to learn some helpful tips to improve their home budgeting.

Pre-Christmas coffee morning

Saturday, November 2 from 10am-12noon at St Modan's Church Hall in Rosneath

Stalls include books, home baking, a tombola, a Christmas raffle, craft fun for children, festive eats and treats, teas and coffees.

Entry is £2 for adults and £1 for children - all welcome.

RNLI coffee morning

Saturday, November 2 from 10am-12.30pm at Helensburgh Parish Church halls, Colquhoun Square

Organised by the charity's Helensburgh fund-raising branch. Features coffee and cakes, a raffle, Christmas cards, RNLI souvenirs, a bottle stall, a cake stall and a candy stall.

RNLI Christmas card sale

Saturday, November 2 from 2-4pm at Cove Burgh Hall

Organised by the RNLI's Cove and Kilcreggan fund-raising branch. Entry is £3 and includes teas, coffees and British and German sweet treats.

As well as the charity's ever-popular Christmas cards, there will also be other RNLI goods on sale.

Saturday, November 2 from 12.15pm at Hermitage Academy in Helensburgh

Back-to-back matches between Helensburgh and Hillhead men's teams in West District Division Three North - the Burgh 2nd XI take on Hillhead 7 at 12.15pm, before Helensburgh 3 play Hillhead 6 at 2pm.

Saturday, November 2 at 2pm at Ardenconnel Park, Cumberland Road, Rhu

After a long run of away fixtures, with seven games on the road in the last eight, Rhu Amateurs are back on home soil on Saturday when they play host to Stirling University in the Caledonian League's first division - looking to build on last week's 5-1 cup win away to top flight Wishaw Wycombe Wanderers.

Bonfire and fireworks

Saturday, November 2 from 6.30pm at the car park on Helensburgh Pier

The town's annual bonfire and fireworks display, organised by Helensburgh and District Round Table. Also includes hot foods, ice cream, hot chocolate, popcorn, candy floss and more.

Garden tidy

Sunday, November 3 from 1.30-3.30pm at the community garden in James Street, Helensburgh

Volunteers are needed to help with the top dressing of beds, light weeding and planting trees.

Hogmanay tickets

Sunday, November 3 from 2-3pm at Cove Burgh Hall

Tickets for Cove's annual Hogmanay bash will be on sale at the hall – come along in person to buy your tickets and reserve a table for the popular event.

Tickets cost £30 and include a welcome drink and fizz at the bells.
