Police bid to make Clydebank roads safer
POLICE have introduced a new system for recording traffic collisions to help make Dumbarton and the Vale roads safer.
The information management system will allow Police Scotland to more accurately record crashes involving serious injuries and fatalities.
The force said the change could mean an increase in the statistics for severe road casualties, possibly by up to 20 per cent.
The project is funded by more than £1/2million from the Scottish Government.
Superintendent Charlie Armstrong, project lead for criminal justice services remodelling project, said: “It’s the start of our work to transform Police Scotland into an organisation capable of delivering 21st century policing by utilising updated and responsive technology.”
