The health board which covers Dumbarton and the Vale has cancelled over 400 operations – due to a lack of equipment.
The figures were released by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) under a freedom of information request.
In 2017/18, 70 operations were cancelled, with 335 for the same reason the following year.
Jackie Baillie, Dumbarton MSP, said: “Operations being cancelled on mass is never acceptable. But cancelling them because of a lack of equipment is utterly shocking.”
A spokeswoman for NHSGGC said: “We do our best not to postpone any planned procedures but, as with every other board across Scotland, when we are experiencing a sustained high demand for emergency medical care we have, unfortunately, to reschedule non-urgent planned inpatient procedures.”
