Santa made an early visit to an Alexandria care home last week.

Residents of Balquhidder and their families enjoyed meeting Father Christmas at the Charleston Way facility on Saturday, November 23.

The jolly fellow handed out presents at the home’s Christmas fete, and chatted to youngsters about what they hope to receive on December 25.

He even had a special grotto set up inside the venue to welcome both big and little kids.
The fete raised a total of £1,290.11 which will go towards the residents’ fund which is used to pay for outings and various activities for residents throughout the year.

Stalls with craft items as well as a raffle were also held on the day.

And there was plenty of cups of tea and homebaking, including yummy reindeer cakes, to keep everyone happy.

A spokeswoman for Balquhidder Care Home told the Reporter: “Everyone had a great time at the Christmas fete.

“We raised a great amount of money which will go into the residents’ fund. We would like to thank everyone who came along and enjoyed themselves, and also to everyone who donated items to make the event the success it was.”
