HUNDREDS of toys have been bought and collected for West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare thanks to kind-hearted youngsters.

The Dumbarton and Clydebank Police Scotland Youth Volunteers (PSYV) have been busy fundraising to buy toys to donate to the charity’s Christmas appeal.

PC Dale Logsdon, PSYV coordinator, said: "Our youth volunteers already volunteer at community events and initiatives, but they were very moved by this local campaign and decided to raise funds specifically for the Christmas toy bank.

“On a daily basis Police Scotland works with partner agencies to ensure the welfare of local people and to keep people safe.

“It is also important to recognise the work being undertaken by voluntary organisations such as West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare, to support families in times of need.

“We are grateful to everyone who donated, especially staff and customers at Morrisons, Empire Cinema and staff at West Dunbartonshire Council Leisure who also supported the collection."
