THE body of a 22-year-old man was found in water at Dalmuir Park on Monday.

Police were called to the area and initially appealed for witnesses, particularly anyone who may have seen the man with a dog.

Officers confirmed that the man was from the area and his death was being treated as “unexplained”.

Tributes have been paid to the man, and condolences expressed on social media to his family and friends.

A police spokesman said: “The body of a man was found in water within Dalmuir Park shortly after 11am on Monday, December 9.

“The man has now been identified as a 22-year-old man from the local area.

“His death is currently being treated as unexplained and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal. A post-mortem will take place in due course.”
