Clydebank Women's Aid have confirmed their Christmas and New Years hours for the coming weeks.

The charity will close at 1pm on Christmas Eve and will reopen at 10am on January 6.

The Post recently reported that CWA sees a rise in demand for help during December, and that women face pressures such as financial constraints and being unable to visit family for safety reasons.

But despite the festive break, the charity said help continues to be available through the national domestic abuse helpline.

A spokeswoman for CWA said: "Thank you to everyone who has donated to us, not only during the festive period but throughout the year.

"Your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated by ourselves and the women, children and young people who use our service.

"We wish everyone a peaceful Christmas and New Year. Should you need support during this time, please contact the Scottish Domestic Abuse and Forced Marriage Helpline on 0800 027 1234.”
