A TEENAGER has been charged with attempted murder after a 55-year-old man was stabbed repeatedly.

Jordan Bell is also charged with aggravated burglary and possessing an offensive weapon following the brutal incident in Nicolson Drive, Shoreham.

The victim had hurried to the outbuilding of a house after hearing a woman screaming in distress before 10pm on Tuesday.

The 55-year-old man heard the attack and went out to intervene, but was set upon by the group, suffering severe injuries including a punctured lung.

Police say he is in a stable condition.

Now the force has announced that a 19-year-old has been charged with attempted murder.

Jordan Bell, unemployed and of Grafton Gardens in Sompting also faces a charge of possessing a quantity of Class B amphetamine in Grafton Gardens on February 14.

He appeared before Crawley magistrates on Monday and entered no plea to the alleged offences on February 11.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on March 16.

He admitted the amphetamine charge which, police say, was “deemed served”.
