The number of coronavirus cases in Greater Glasgow has risen to 376.

Rising up from 299 confirmed cases on Friday, that is an increase of 77 positive cases in 24 hours. 

Greater Glasgow remains the health board with the highest number of confirmed cases.

Lanarkshire follows with 165 positive test, while the Lothian health board has seen 151 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

In total, Scotland now has 1245 positive cases of the novel coronavirus. 

That is a record increase of 186 from yesterday's total of 1059 cases. 

Overall, the number of positive cases makes up .02% of the Scottish population.

Sadly, seven more deaths have been confirmed in Scotland since Friday as the overall toll hits 40.

Earlier today it was confirmed Scottish Secretary Alister Jack has developed mild symptoms of coronavirus in the past 24 hours and is self-isolating.

Mr Jack, the Conservative MP for Dumfries and Galloway, said he has not been tested for the virus and his symptoms are a mild temperature and a cough.

He said: “In the past 24 hours, I have developed mild symptoms associated with coronavirus.

“In line with medical guidance, I am self-isolating and working from home.”
