A CHILDREN’S hospice in Balloch has set a challenge to match a £20,000 donation that Clydebank comedian Kevin Bridges made.

Children’s Hospice Across Scotland (CHAS) is asking people to donate to help raise money during the coronavirus lockdown as the charity’s fundraising events have been cancelled. Kevin made his spontaneous donation in memory of his “wee pal” Dylan Hairstains, aged 16, who died in 2012.

A spokesperson for CHAS said: “In these extremely challenging times, we are so grateful to Kevin for his commitment to helping children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

“He has also laid down a challenge, to see if those who are in a position to contribute to CHAS can help double his donation at this crucial moment in time.”
