AN Alexandria man is calling on fellow firefighters across West Dunbartonshire to participate in a new online dance craze.

Craig Mackinnon, who is a member of the Red Watch fire crew, based in Maryhill, joined colleagues to choreograph, perform and record a dance routine to post on TikTok, a video sharing platform used by millions of people.

The crew enjoyed the chance to show off their best moves and spread a little cheer during the coronavirus pandemic.

Craig came up with the idea to take part after seeing other fire services around the UK doing the dance.

He told the Reporter: “We decided to do the video to try and spread some joy in these uncertain times. There is some pretty bad dancing in there.

“We are planning a few more videos once we get better at working out TikTok.

“People have taken to it well, we’ve had loads of comments from people saying they love it and it’s good to see us spreading a bit of joy.”
