TWO Luss hotels have claimed prizes at a virtual awards ceremony celebrating the best of Scotland’s hospitality industry.

The winners of the 2020 Scottish Hotel Awards were revealed online on April 26 after the planned gala dinner in Edinburgh was cancelled due to the lockdown.

The Loch Lomond Arms Hotel was chosen as the inn of the year for the Argyll and Lomond region, while the nearby Lodge on Loch Lomond earned five regional awards.

The Lodge was named as the lochside hotel of the year, wedding hotel of the year and activities hotel of the year for the Argyll and Lomond area, while it also scooped a business and meetings award.

There was also recognition for staff, with Sandra Cunningham named as the national winner of the sales manager of the year gong.

Last year, the Lodge on Loch Lomond earned no fewer than nine awards for the hotel itself and team members.

The hotel remains closed for business during the Covid-19 lockdown and all staff members have been placed on furlough leave in line with the UK government’s ‘job retention scheme’.
