HEARTS have been kindly made by local knitters to support those who have lost someone during the coronavirus crisis.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is looking for knitters to create hearts to give to families.

A small heart will be offered to families, while another will remain with their loved one who has passed away, in the hope it will allow them to feel more connected to their relative.

Janet Slowik, from Balloch, has been busy making the hearts along with friends Sarah Smith, from Old Kilpatrick, and Margaret Reid, from Clydebank.

The trio have been donating their hearts to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Anyone who would like to help is asked to deliver the hearts in re-sealable plastic bags with the date clearly written on it so staff can allow five days before they can be used.
