WEST Dunbartonshire Council has agreed a provisional date for the reopening of local recycling centres.

The pandemic forced the closure of recycling centres throughout the area, which lead to an increase in flytipping.

However, the Post can confirm that recycling will reopen from June 1.

A spokeswoman for WDC confirmed: “Scottish councils, including West Dunbartonshire, have agreed a provisional date for the reopening of recycling centres.

“This will of course be subject to [Scottish] Government advice on travel and an assurance it will not negatively impact on Covid-19 infection rates.”

WDC also say that local post-lockdown plans are being developed, which will continue to adhere to national guidance and, once finalised, details will be shared with communities.
