A CLYDEBANK photographer has shared the fantastic close-up beauty of his garden by taking a photo each day.

Bankie Will Wilson has been posting macro photos of the critters that frequent his garden online since the beginning of lockdown in an attempt to brighten up the days of those who could be feeling the mental stress of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Will told the Post: “I guess I’ve always been into photography, from a very early age anyway. I was always taken with the ability to keep memories or grab moments. I also take live gig pictures but due to lockdown that has stopped completely.

“I was due to take pictures at a few gigs – Ian Donaldson (h2o) Space, Blancmange and I had been invited to take pictures for the Simple Minds tribute band ‘Simple Minded” at the big ‘White Hot Day’ at St. Lukes, which was a worldwide gathering of Simple Minds fans.

“It’s not quite that I take a photo every day, but I post one every day - one that I think will make people smile. I put a post up on my own Facebook page mid-March just before official lockdown, I had been effectively laid off a week before, I could see it all unfolding and posted one of my pics and headed it ‘a pic to brighten your day’.

“I got a lot of response from it and decided then to post a pic each day titled ‘Brighten your Day’, not knowing that 12 weeks later I’d still be posting one.

“As the days have gone on I started to use up all my various pictures but I am fortunate enough to have a garden and with a little thought and a lot of patience I have managed to grab a few more - although I don’t know how many different pictures of bees people will tolerate.”
