Seven people have been arrested after dozens of police cars were seen in Milton on Saturday night. 

Dozens of police cars were seen in Egilsay Street around 10pm last night as officers responded to reports of a party.

A woman, 31, and a man, 25, are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday after they were arrested and charged in connection with the incident. 

The other five individuals, two women, aged 27 and 33, and three men, aged 23, 31, and 34, were also arrested and charged in connection with the incident. 

They have been released on undertaking and are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday, August 26. 

Party attendees were instructed to go home after officers arrived at the scene. 

Officers are reminding people to take personal responsibility as large gatherings remain prohibited under lockdown guidelines.

Sergeant Gordon Murphy, of Glasgow Baird Street Station, said: “We can confirm that we attended a property at Egilsay Street in Glasgow around 10pm on Saturday, 4 July, 2020, following a report of an ongoing party.

“Officers spoke to the occupants and encouraged them to go home. The gathering dispersed a short time later.

“A 31-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested and charged in connection and are expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 6 July, 2020.

“Another two women, aged 27 and 33, and three men, aged 23, 31 and 34, were arrested and charged in connection and released on undertaking to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 26 August, 2020.

“The Chief Constable has made it clear that we are asking people to take personal responsibility to do the right thing and remember the purpose of these measures is to aid the collective effort to stay safe, protect others and save lives by preventing the virus from spreading.”
