Ex-Hibs and Rangers striker Flo Kamberi is set to join St Gallen this week after their goalscorer Cedric Itten left Switzerland to play at Ibrox.

The twist in the saga came yesterday as Gers confirmed they had signed both Itten and Kemar Roofe, essentially putting an end to any interest in Kamberi.

It means his path is paved for a switch, for around £150,000, as the Swiss Super League outfit are looking for a new frontman.

Kamberi burned his bridges at Easter Road with comments about joining Rangers on loan last season, when he claimed it was a dream move. That didn't sit well with Hibs supporters and he was told this season he could leave the club.

Manager Jack Ross even allowed him to head back home to Switzerland for some sunshine with the Scottish Premiership season kicking off the next day.

Steven Gerrard had considered moving for the ex-Grasshoppers star, but the signing of Roofe and Itten has seemingly ended that.
