Rangers could have a big say in Kai Havertz's next move should they be able to overcome a 3-1 deficit in this evening's Europa League clash with Bayer Leverkusen.
Chelsea have been linked with Havertz all summer and still desperately hope to land their man. However, Peter Bosz and his club have warned that they will not even consider sitting down at the negotiating table until their European campaign is over for another year. Havertz, of course, being their main man, whom they'd be loathe to lose with a trophy on the line.
That means that, should Gers fail to beat the Germans, Frank Lampard could be forced to wait it out. Running the risk of other clubs making last-ditch attempts to swoop in and nick Havertz from under Chelsea's noses. However, if Steven Gerrard's men pull off the unthinkable, it could potentially force Leverkusen into doing an early deal over Havertz to ensure they earn top dollar.
The Daily Express claim Havertz is valued at around £90million by Leverkusen, but Chelsea - who have already signed Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech this window - are only willing to part with around £70million.
Havertz scored the opener at Ibrox in the last-16 first-leg from the penalty spot.
