A man was raced to hospital after an assault in a block of flats in Dalmuir this morning.
Emergency services were called to reports of the incident on Scott Street around 9.50am.
The 49-year-old is being treated for his injuries in hospital.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward as they launch an investigation.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 9.50am on Friday, August 6, 2020, officers were called to a report of a 49 year-old man assaulted within a block of flats on Scott Street in Dalmuir.
"He was taken to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. "
Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 citing the reference number 1005 of August 7.
