A dead swan has been discovered caught in the fence in the tennis courts near Whitecrook Park.

The swan was seen by a local resident with it's head stuck in the fence at the tennis courts at the top of John Brown's park, just off of Cochno Street.

West Dunbartonshire Council has since confirmed that the swan has been removed.

Scottish SPCA chief inspector Laura McIntyre said, “We can confirm that this swan was reported to us on 17 September at around 10am.

“Anyone with any further information on this incident should call our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999. Our helpline is open seven days a week from 7am until 9pm."

Clydebank Post:

RSPB has been approached for comment.

Swans have been a regular fixture by the canal in Clydebank for a few years now.

Earlier in June, a swan and her four young cygnets have been rescued from the Forth and Clyde Canal after Bankies raised an alarm when a neighbouring male repeatedly tried to attack them.
