A GROUP of youngsters spent their weekend completing a six-mile walk in aid of a local charity.
The Gavinburn Primary pupils walked from the Humphrey to the top of the Kilpatrick Hills and back to raise money for Golden Friendships, on Sunday, August 30.
Emma Cameron, who organised the event for the primary three pupils and their parents, told the Reporter: “We chose to raise money for Golden Friendships as it’s a local charity, it helps a lot of people in the community.
“We walked the full route without a single moan from one of kids.
“It took us just under two-and-a-half hours.”
The group set themselves a fund-raising target of £1,000 and have raised more than £700 so far.
Parent Laura Martin added: “All of the kids had a great day socialising and exercising.”
