Clydebank youngsters have been helping to tackle climate change while enjoying their weekend.

Children involved in Y Sort It’s Street Bikes club visited Bowling Harbour during their Saturday cycle, challenging themselves to fill three bin bags with litter left on the Clydeside beach.

Earlier this month, the group also shrugged off some inclement weather to scale the challenging Loch Humphrey Hill with volunteers Michael and Joe.

Despite complaints of “nae chance” and “I can’t!”, the entire group made it up the hill to the Humphrey Reservoir.

The Street Bikes Saturday club has proven popular with youngsters in West Dunbartonshire, with all bikes and equipment provided by the service and social distancing adhered to.

Recently, the group have spoken about the difficulties faced by the service due to funding streams being redirected to assist coronavirus aid projects.

The club is open to any child aged eight or above, and runs every Saturday from 12noon to 4pm.
