A POPULAR Loch Lomond wedding venue has closed its doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Boturich Castle Venue in Balloch shared the sad news on their Facebook page last week.

The owners said: “It is with great sadness that we have to announce the closure of Boturich Castle Venue.

“It has been a devastating year for us due to Covid and with the uncertainty of what is in the future we have made the very difficult decision to shut our business.

“All current bookings with us have been informed and payments will be reimbursed. We’d like to thank everyone who has entrusted us with hosting their special day over the last 10 years. It has been an honour to work with you all.”

The venue’s page was flooded with heartfelt messages.

Bride-to-be Emma Jane wrote: “So sorry for you all. I’m devastated that I won’t get to walk on your beautiful grounds in my dress. This has been the place of my dreams for so many years.”

Photographer Denise McDonald said: “I am so sad to hear this. Boturich really was something special. It was such a stunning venue to photograph and run by a team who knew exactly what they were doing.”
