POLICE have warned Largs householders to be on their guard after a recent spate of break-ins.
Largs Community Council meeting heard that a number of doors had been tried in streets across the town.
Margaret Wood, who heads the police sub-committee, said: "There have been quite a few break-ins, thefts and doors being tried. "It is important that people are made aware of the problem. As the nights get darker, all front and back doors should be locked.
"Even if people are sitting inside and watching television, they should still make sure the house is secure."
