A WOMAN who attacked her former partner while he slept has been ordered to give back to the community.

Bobbi McIlroy, 32, previously pleaded guilty to going uninvited into the flat in Dalmuir Court, Dalmuir, on March 9, 2019, striking him on the body and throwing household items at him to his injury and permanent disfigurement. It was aggravated by being against an ex partner.

McIlroy, of Merkins Avenue, Bellsmyre, Dumbarton, was put on bail for the offence and then months later breached an order not to contact the man, who was found in her property on October 7, 2019. He was discovered hiding in a wardrobe.

She was later put under a community payback order (CPO) with social worker supervision for 12 months. With that order due to expire soon, McIlroy appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court last week for the original attack.

In separate charges, McIlroy was found on January 3, 2020, in possession of diamorphine and cannabis.

And on January 19, at the A811 near Old Luss Road, Balloch, she lost control of her vehicle and veered across the carrageway in front of an oncoming vehicle, hitting it and coming to a halt on a grass berge. There was extensive damage to the vehicle. McIlroy had also admitted being unfit to drive through drink or drugs.

Defence solicitor Scott Adair said his client was currently doing volunteer work at a food bank and benefitting from that.

He said on the driving charge, she effectively hit a roundabout too fast and lost control.

Sheriff William Gallacher said: "The indictment you pleaded guilty to was a serious one."

On that matter, he sentenced her to new CPO with 150 hours of unpaid work in the community to be completed within a year. She will also be under supervision by social workers for a year.

On the charges from January this year, she was also put under supervision, but they will all run parallel to each other.

She was disqualified from driving for 12 months. The earlier CPO continues without further review.
