A Balloch artist has found a unusual way to relax and cope with the stress of the coronavirus pandemic.

Scott Walker, 52 switched his paint brushes for stones earlier in March after becoming anxious about his wife and daughter, who were both key-workers on the Covid frontline.

Now, he wants to share his new-found hobby with other residents in Dumbarton and the Vale.

He told the Reporter: "My wife and daughter both worked in social care at the time, although now my daughter works from home.

"There was a lot of anxiety about what was happening as no one could predict what was to come, so I tried to find ways of relaxing, and saw one down in [Balloch Country] park.

"I thought I would give it a try and I found that it kept me calm and relived my anxiety whilst I was stacking the stones."

He has since created over 300 stone stacks of various sizes around the shores of Loch Lomond.

The artist, who identifies as Wingnut Art on Facebook, has been sharing his creations in hope that others will join him in this 'enjoyable' activity.
