RUBBISH at the centre of a row over reports of fly-tipping in a Renton street has been cleared, a local housing association has said.

A local resident contacted the Reporter to say she had noticed the rubbish near her home in the Dalquhurn area of the village on Wednesday, January 20.

In a message posted on social media, the woman said: “Great, dirty b*****s dumping their rubbish in my street.

“Meant to be a skip here, skip not here yet. So, what do folk do? Dump it.”

A spokesperson for Cordale Housing Association, who usually set out skips as an extra help to locals who can't get to a recycling centre with larger items, and who have since cleared the rubbish, said: "This morning our contractor had a delivery mix up with the skips, delivering only 2 of the 4 skips organised.

"The two skips that weren’t delivered today will be delivered tomorrow instead.

"All our tenants were advised of this change first thing this morning via our Facebook page and website.

"Our estate contractors were working across the 4 locations throughout the day assisting tenants.

"At the end of today our Estate Contractor removed all rubbish left where a skip was meant to be.

"We left this task until late afternoon to ensure the team were on hand to assist people as needed and make sure no items were left behind."
