TWO people were given fixed penalty notices for contravening the Covid-19 regulations after police investigated a noise complaint at a property in Renton.

Officers went to Back Street in the village shortly after 11.30pm on Saturday, January 16 and, on going to the property they believed the noise was coming from, reportedly found two people who did not live there.

In addition to the two who were fined for breaches of the Covid rules on being in someone else’s home without a reasonable excuse, a 43-year-old woman became abusive and aggressive to police and was arrested on suspicion of a breach of the peace after failing to heed a warning and refusing to desist.

She was taken to Clydebank police office and later released when sober, after being given a recorded police warning.
