A TEENAGER has been fined for breaching Covid travel restrictions after police pulled over a vehicle near Dumbarton.
Officers stopped a car on the A814 near Cardross Golf Club on the night of January 29 and reportedly noticed a strong smell of cannabis from inside.
Its two occupants were detained for a search which is said to have resulted in the recovery of a quantity of cannabis.
The vehicle's 17-year-old driver, from Kirkintilloch, 22 miles away, and his male passenger were issued with fixed penalties for breaching the government's Covid travel instructions.
The driver is the subject of a report to the fiscal for alleged possession of controlled drugs.
The incident comes after police in the area warned they would take action against any flagrant breaches of lockdown rules.
