ACROSS West Dunbartonshire, more than 26,000 have now received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

The number of people vaccinated with their first dose is 35.5 per cent of the local population.

Over 300,000 people have been given their first dose of the vaccine across the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board, 30.8 per cent of the population, while 1,542,929 people have received the vaccine across the country, 34 per cent of the total population.

New data released by Public Health Scotland is allowing us to track the jag progress across Scotland, with figures revealing how many first doses have been administered, as well as telling us the percentage of the population which has been vaccinated.

Vaccinators have been making their way down the priority list set out, and people over the age of 40 are next on the list for a vaccine, with scientific advisers saying the move would “provide the greatest benefit in the shortest time”.

Twelve further cases of coronavirus were recorded in West Dunbartonshire in the past day, bringing the weekly total to 152 – a 7 day rate per 100,000 population of 170.9, the second worst in Scotland behind Falkirk.
