A MAN who grabbed his partner by the throat has been sent to prison.
George Hagen previously pleaded guilty to the attack on April 16, 2019 in Shandon Crescent, Alexandria, where he seized hold of the woman by her neck to her injury.
The offence was aggravated by being against a partner.
Hagen, 52, of Glen Avenue, Alexandria, appeared from custody at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on February 19 for sentencing.
The court had previously deferred sentence for him to be of good behaviour, but was told he had recently been jailed at Glasgow Sheriff Court for breaching a non-harassment order, including leaving voicemails and sending letters.
His earliest release from jail is in April.
Sheriff Maxwell Hendry said the situation was entirely Hagen’s own fault and he had no faith Hagen wouldn’t break the law “again and again” once he was out of prison.
Defence solicitor Stephen McGuire said: “He has to deal with it appropriately when he comes out of custody.”
Sheriff Hendry told Hagen: “You’re entirely the author of your own misfortune.”
Hagen was jailed for five months, to start after the Glasgow sentence. A non-harassment order was put in place for three years to protect his ex.
